I very much appreciate the comments concerning last week's column about all the local rich people not doing anything about their communities impending doom.
Yes, those rich guys bug me, too.
But more on that in future columns.
Today, let's discuss two urgent topics - cool Canadians and the end of the world.
Let's take the end of the world first.
You read it here first.
The Cool to be Canadian Campaign is taking off.
Not only was the Cool to be Canadian Hotline inundated with nominations, but a radio station in Edmonton has expressed interest
in picking up the campaign and syndicating it. And somebody from Joe Clark's research office called and asked what the Cool Campaign is all about.
Here are some names nominated by readers to be added to last week's list of Cool Canadians:
Maj. Gen. Lewis MacKenzie
Cpl Mario Forest
Kids in the Hall
Cheryl Nye, a Montreal West singer
James Doohan (Scotty of Star Trek)
Billy Riback (comedy writer for Rosanne)
